And its opaque ruby color combines with tons of dark fruit, deep notes of chocolate and coffee, and a tinge of lavender.
Anarchist Wine Co The Philosopher 2014 pours opaque ruby with a lively rim. Lush and bountiful black cherry, intermingled with cocoa, espresso, pencil lead, crushed violets, and spice. While fresh purple fruits dominate the palate, layered with hints of cocoa, vanilla. All leading to a lengthy finish. With its generous juicy core and velvety layers of tannins, this bottle begs to be enjoyed in the near term.

Winery | I drink, therefore I am. The Philosopher delivers existential certainty in every glass. Classic Cabernet aromas of black cherry, plum, and violets, along with toffee, mocha, with hints of vanilla bean. Mouth-filling palate with ripe cassis, cacao, cigar box, and blueberries. Nicely balanced acidity in a full-bodied wine, with well-integrated tannins.
We chose to step away from the traditional approach to explore new varietal combinations. From there, the winemaking team continued to tinker and tweak, blending varietals not usually made together in the traditional wine landscape.
About the Philosopher
Naturally, we encountered more questions than answers when it came to creating a label for Anarchist Wine Co The Philosopher 2014. Our winemaker convinced that the wine speaks for itself, advocated for no label at all. Well, that isn’t legal, so we set off in search of an artistic solution to our existential dilemma. We discovered an intriguing algorithm, one that generated meandering patterns with no end, matching question for question the deep genius of this wine. To complete our quest we turned to our favorite philosophers, gleaned data from their life histories, and merged it with our algorithm. The resulting art reveals the mysteries of truth and beauty captured by The Philosopher.
