Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc 2019 | New Zealand’s Best Sauvignon Blanc!
The new release of Tinpot Hut’s signature Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is back! Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc 2019 is a gregarious, exuberant white with acidity and verve to spare. While bursting with fresh, exotic citrus—pineapple, ruby red grapefruit, and guava, Our insiders have been begging for another allocation since the 2017 release sold out almost instantly.
Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc 2019 presents a pale straw hue. Aromas of grapefruit and thyme jump out of the glass to set up a vibrant palate of fresh guava and melon fruit, accentuated with lemongrass and Meyer lemon. The excellent texture on the mid-palate is bolstered by a mouthwatering acidity that sustains on the finish. A perfect aperitif wine, but with the depth to hold up to an array of seafood and grilled fish preparations. A consistent crowd-pleaser! Enjoy now – 2023.
Winemaker Fiona Turner | New Vintage
Tinpot Hut’s owner and winemaker Fiona Turner crafts exceptional wines from her Home Block vineyard. While established in 2005 in Blind River. Then Marlborough’s newest, highly lauded subregion. Which is fast earning the reputation as its best.
So her oenological skills have taken her to California, Hawke’s Bay, Central Otago, and Marlborough. Where she now lives, works and plays. Most of all Fiona Turner focuses on producing wines that are true to variety. And expressing the characteristics inherent on the vine.
Decanter gave 98 points – an unheard-of score for a Sauv Blanc
Master of Wine Rebecca Gibb lauded Tinpot Hut’s 2018 release in Decanter for its “rich, aromatic and supple style redolent of tropical fruits ranging from pineapple to passionfruit,” all of it cut through with energizing acidity. We adored its guava, pineapple, and lime zest notes lifted by exotic hints of lemongrass. In essence, Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc fuses freshness with clean, zippy minerality in a white that’s comfortable by the pool, tailgate, or dinner table.
With Turner at the helm, the Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc has more than earned its reputation as a critical and Wine Access favorite. In case you missed it: The 2016 vintage received the highest score ever for a Sauvignon Blanc—a near-perfect 98 points from Decanter. And this 2019 is a worthy successor to the last three terrific vintages.
