Renato Ratti Ochetti Nebbiolo 2015 | Class, Elegant, Raspberry & 90 points from Parker!
90RP: The Renato Ratti Ochetti Nebbiolo 2015 is a delicate and floral expression of the grape. Fruit comes from the Roero zone where light, sandy soils tend to reinforce aromas of violets and wild raspberry. The wine sees one year of aging in large oak casks. The Renato Ratti Winery style and presentation are relatively simple. Yet there is enough pleasing depth and dimension to think of a successful pairing with pasta topped with paper-thin shavings of black truffle.
Winery Tasting notes: A slightly faded ruby red. Fine, delicate and persistent bouquet with characteristic trace scents of strawberry and raspberry. Pleasantly bitterish, velvety, at once elegant and full.
Notes on wine and food pairing with the Renato Ratti Ochetti Nebbiolo 2015: Class and spontaneous vivacity are the distinguishing characteristics of this wine. The typical sandy soil gives lots of finesse and very delicate aromas. Red meats, grilled or on the spit, game, grande cuisine white and red meats with white or brown sauces.
Renato Ratti Winery
Located halfway up the hill dominating the principal valley of Barolo, buttressed by steep slopes lined by orderly vineyards, lies a precious jewel from the 15th century: the Abbey of Annunziata.
As the monks historically produced wine from the grapes of the surrounding hillsides while today, incomparable wines are produced.
From the 100 acres of vineyards, the Renato Ratti winery produces around 150,000 bottles from the traditional denominations of the area: Barolo, Nebbiolo d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto d’Alba.
The modern and innovative philosophy of vinification introduced since the 60’s by Renato Ratti, while today is in the hands of his son Pietro and his nephew Massimo Martinelli.
