Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is “Everything a Sauvignon Blanc should be,” while another wrote, “I have bought it three times now.” Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has made it a staple at home, saying “Love your wine, always have some in the cellar.”
Winemaker Fiona Turner | New Vintage
Tinpot Hut’s owner and winemaker Fiona Turner crafts exceptional wines from her Home Block vineyard. While established in 2005 in Blind River. Then Marlborough’s newest, highly lauded subregion. Which is fast earning the reputation as its best.
So her oenological skills have taken her to California, Hawke’s Bay, Central Otago, and Marlborough. Where she now lives, works and plays. Most of all Fiona Turner focuses on producing wines that are true to variety. And expressing the characteristics inherent on the vine.
Decanter gave 98 points – an unheard-of score for a Sauv Blanc
The 2021 growing season was extremely kind to the small crop of grapes in Marlborough, and particularly to owner and winemaker Fiona Turner’s Home Block Vineyard in the Blind River subregion. There, dry conditions and moderate temperatures throughout the season concentrated the Sauvignon Blanc, allowing it to develop an extra jolt of citrus burst alongside Chablis-like elegance—all for an unbelievable price.
With Turner at the helm, the Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc has more than earned its reputation as a critical and Wine Access favorite. In case you missed it: The 2016 vintage received the highest score ever for a Sauvignon Blanc—a near-perfect 98 points from Decanter. And this 2021 is a worthy successor to the last three terrific vintages.
